will slp y pipe work with other longtubes besides slp?
i cant really afford slp longtubes, now if i get the loudmouth and slp y pipe are there any other longtubes that will work with slp y pipe? or do i need a y pipe for the brand of headers like hooker headers/ hooker y pipe flowtech headers/flowtech y pipe etc? will loudmouth bolt up to stock y pipe? what are everyones opinions on flowtech longtubes? the price is pretty decent, ok what size headers are best 1 5/8 1 3/4 or 1 7/8? will the bigger ones make a noticeable difference in et and hp?

the LM will bolt up perfectly to the stock ypipe, that's what it was designed for.
there are 2 kinds of SLP ypipes, the one that bolts to the stock manifolds, and the one designed for their longtube headers. one will not fit the other.
for the most part you need a ypipe designed for the specific header. HOWEVER some are interchangable, but i'm not sure which. from what i hear, the design on the hookers are the same as the flowtechs...and are therefor interchangable...but not positive.
i have the flowtech headers on order, should be getting installed this weekend if they get here will be letting everyone know how they are when they arrive.
for a stock or basic bolt on car the 1 5/8s headers are sufficient, if you plan to go to H/C...you may want to install the 1 3/4" in anticipation, but you'd probably only see 2-3 hp difference. and the huge 1 7/8's are for serious stroker or blown applications and would probably hurt performance on a bolt on car.
