wont stay running

So last night i drove over to my girlfriends house parked the car every thing was fine. I left and turned the car on and it turned its self right back off. The only way i can keep it running when its not in grear is if i press on the gas. Also if i am coasting with my foot off the gas. It slows down a good bit faster than normal. I think i have some sort of vaccume issue. What should i check and be looking for?

Mine did pretty much the exact same thing one night about ~2 months ago ... started ... stalled!? I was thinking "WTF, this thing NEVER stalls?! " ... started it again, stalled again! Then I started it and kept it running with some throttle, but it would NOT stay running unless I gave it at least some throttle (didn't take much, just take it off idle). So I sat and "nursed" it for a minute or so, then let my foot off, the RPM's dipped a little, but it didn't stall ..... and it's been running fine ever since??!????!

NEVER happened before, NEVER since, but for a couple minutes, I thought my car was crippled!

Also curious for feedback / input on WHAT that could be?
