Worrisome info on our cars...

Yeah, this is getting silly...
Paranoia? Sure, I can see why. But some thoughts:
Innocent till proven guilty (which is bent by the whole "suspected terrorist" law) still holds. If they cannot prove 100% you WERE NOT on the drag strip when you say you were, you cannot be convicted. If you're suspected for killing someone and have no alabi, that does not mean you killed them. It's just one less thing that says you're innocent.
A lot of mechanics dont know what the heck the lt1 air pump is, and when removed and you install headers with no AIR provisions, they have no idea it's gone... how is a cop going to know exactly where your car's brain is?
If you are in an accident, unless there is a felony doing so or have some other "just cause" for search and siezure of your vehicle, the police and your agent cannot go into your car without warrant or permission.
Any cop that is on "accident duty" can reconstruct an accident very well. They have been taught to. They dont need your computers black box to tell them you were speeding.
Is going WOT a crime? Look at a Hundai Accent. Go WOT in that thing for 20 seconds... MAYBE you'll hit 60mph. WOT is not a crime... yet ...
Reckless driving? Owning an LS1 IS reckless. Think about it. If you can get up almost all of the on-ramps to highways in this country and be 15mph over the limit by the time you merge? You dont EVER need that power. But they cant ticket you for it. Sue the manufacturer for making a car that accelerates so fast you dont know you're speeding because you're too scared and trying to stay on the road.
NY State Thruway prints your car a ticket when you get on and takes the time when you get off. Distance/Time = rate of speed. Limit = 65mph. They can tell instantly if your average was over the limit, and thusly ticket you by mail.
Paranoid? Sure. Warranted? No. The US govt can scan EVERY piece of email you send or recieve. They can record any wireless conversation at will. They can see what you buy on your credit cards, checking accounts, and what type of gas you use...
1984? Ladies and Gents, we've been there. Just because they have it all dosent mean they can use it yet.
