Worst LS1 dyno ever?
This weekend I was a mini vacation and there's a Truck shop with a dyno near where I was staying so I went to get it dynoed. The results were..... 236 HP @140 MPH, and 319.8tq@102 MPH. I asked why it wasn't done with RPM's and he said that it was more accurate this way??? This was a Mustang dyno, although I'm not sure what model. When I was paying for it I noticed there sign said the dyno was good for 900 HP and up to 150 MPH, so i'm thinking this is why the results were off. I didn't think of it at the time, but I should have asked them to do it in 2nd gear as well, one time when he was getting up to speed and didn't have it far enough to get it into 3rd I saw a 336 tq number.

Mustang brand dynos will show a lower number every time.
reason is that its supposed to be a more accurate number..
thats what they tell you, but how 240rwhp propels a 3700lb car through the 1/4 mile in low 13's I have no idea...
haha
as stated in the other dyno post.. I may try out a Mustang dyno nearby to see how the numbers look compared to my 40+ dyno jet pulls..

If your car is really running these times:
13.124@106.01 w/1.9 60'
Then you should'nt give a damn what any dyno says. Yes, Mustang dynos usually read lower than Dynojets, but even 230-240hp seems below average. But if the track numbers are correct, the car is fine. With a 106 trap, I'd assume you'd be in the 300-310rwhp range on a Dynojet.

The cutout was open, and i did have 2 sandbags in the back(i don't think that would affect the dyno, just saying). With the air filter out i gained 2 tq and lost 2 hp.

Never trust a Mustang............................Dyno that is
Yeah I hear they always underrate the RWHP. The dynojet is more accurate and like the others here have said, your trap speed indicates a good 300 RWHP. But to answer the question as originally worded, the lowest LS1 Dynojet number I have heard was about 260 RWHP on a 99 TA with an A4 tranny. That seemed very low to me when I heard it and was giving the car owner my condolenses.
But then again there could have been a problem with the dyno or with his car to cause the low numbers.
Good luck with the next dyno session
