WS6 Air box question

Ok I though all the stock air boxes to our ls1's were the same, I guess I was wrong. I noticed the lower air box on the ram air or ws6 has a bigger gap opening in the front than the regular air box. Does this help any? I figure it won't be alot but if it helps suck more air then it can't be bad.

Could I use this on my gm ss hood?

It will NOT work with a GM SS hood. Sorry.

AL SS590 M6 is right. It sits to high. I tried on my SS and the hood didn't close.

The larger opening was strictly to line up the mispositioned WS6 hood. The air intake on the SS and Firehawk box was sufficient for the engine requirements. That's why the lids that provide more HP still have the same size opening. The larger lower box on the WS6 was just to line up the hood
This was from SLP's chief engineer, on the SLP forum.

Not better than the regular until the speed reaches probably 60+mph or so.

So you are saying the ls1 can't pull in any more air than it can through that little slit on standard air boxes?
