yet another cam choice question, not too tough though
hey guys, i just just got a 05 cts-v (LS6).
i heard that the hotcam will pass california smog (my lt4 hotcam smogs very clean). can anyone confirm that the LS hotcam will pass ca smog?
if i do go with the LS hotcam, i should be fine with my stock LS6 springs right?
my other thought was to get a custom grind cam from texas speed (only $375).
the closest specs i saw on their site was 220/228, 581/588 lift with a 112lsa (and i have no idea what i should go with on the intake centerline). will this amount of lift require me to change springs?
thanks for any info,
Jeremy

LS6 springs are good to around .550 or so roughly. I wouldn't use them in most aftermarket cams.
I highly doubt a 112 LSA would pass a CA smog anyway.

well my LT4 hot cam is basically the same specs as the Gen III hotcam for the LS cars.
it is a 218/228, 525/525lift on a 112LSA and its smogs very, very clean...
im just hoping a california guy will chime in here who is running the hotcam.....
thanks for the info on the springs, i just the 550 lift info searching around this morning.
