Exclamation **HELP** MSD Rotor too Shallow? Won't Fit Square

I bought the MSD cap and rotor kit off Shon Herron and got around to getting it apart today.

I'm starting to replace the cap and rotor and I noticed the MSD rotor looks a little different than the stock piece. I took a measurement of the recess that fits over the rubber spacer, the stock depth is 5/16" and the MSD is 4/16" which makes it not deep enough to fit flush. What do I do? I can take some pictures if it will help but it just seems like its a matter of the MSD piece being too short. I could screw it down and squish the rubber spacer a bit but that doesn't seem right, the stock rotor fits over it perfect.

This is on a '93 Z28 and the part number is MSD 8481. Original unvented optispark going to MSD Cap and Rotor kit. Thanks in advance for the help.

Feel free to give me a call at 309-202-0343 I may be out trying to figure something out.

-Chris

edit: Tried screwing rotor down a little, it slightly bottoms out on the isolater and spins rough. Something is not right, it's like it needs another metal shim, there was only one in there? But then the screws may not be long enough, they were already shorter than the OEM screws that included washers. I'm beginning to not like the quality of this at all... I would appreciate any help or suggestions, thank you.
