Re: 0 to 60????

Aside from commercials and car rags, who goes around talking about 0-60 times anyway?

Re: 0 to 60????

Well, I downloaded the iPhone app. The Grand Prix registered a 0-60 time of 7.4 sec yielding a horsepower calculated out to 308. If the 0-60 time is correct, it's the fastest normally aspirated 3.8 liter GP ever made. The car is rated at 200 horsepower so that's wrong as well.

Not worth the money.....in my opinion, of course .

Re: 0 to 60????

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the 0-60 time 5.8 seconds, not 5.5? Or did it switch along with the power rating in '96 when they went to OBDII and twin cats?

There is no manufacturer published 0-60MPH rating.... that's just a number that auto magazines publish based on their testing, and it varies all over the place. Basically, its fiction.

A compression test isn't difficult, reaching the spark plugs is the hardest part. The tester itself is cheap and consists of a gauge with a hose and an adapter that screws into the spark plug hole. The technique is to remove all the plugs, screw the tester into a plug hole, open the throttle completely and spin the engine over. Record the reading on the gauge and go to the next hole. You're looking for no more than 10% difference cylinder to cylinder and an absolute value of about 175psi...
