Question +1, +2, +3, +4 ?????????

i know, this is a retarded question...... but please advise me what this means.. i have the hypertech programmer on my car
and have the rev set at 6600... what does this mean +1 1-2 shift, or +1, +3.. etc..... 2-3 +1, +2, +3 etc... i am still tapping my rev limiter with it set at 6600... mods in sig. if you guys are running the same mods, and also doing the hpp3, where are your settings at? and please tell me what the +1, +2, +3 stuff means....

describe what the +1 is etc..

thanks

-Mike

Since your car is shifted according to speed, that allows the car to go that much more mph's before it shifts to the next gear. Depending on what gear ratio you have is how much more rpm's it will stay in that gear. I would be careful about having the rev limiter at that high, I dont think it is a very good idea to let ur stock engine rev that high. Mine is set at +1, and rest are 0, just so I can catch that little extra first gear.

REAR GEAR RATIOS 3.42:1 and 3.45:1
1-2 SHIFT 2-3 SHIFT 3-4 SHIFT
1 MPH = 1 MPH = 1 MPH =
135 RPM 70 RPM 40 RPM

^ for instance.... 1 mph = 135 rpm .....ok.. 135 rpm over what though??

over stock,

1-2 5700
2-3 5700
3-4 5500

i guess u have a 3.42 gear, if u want, i can make it simple and just post up the actual rpm each +/- for that gear ratio

no problem, im gonna see if a digi pic will work, if not will just post them....

pic looks like it will work, ask questions abpout the numbers if u need to

EDIT*** about your rev limiter, set it to 6600, and see if i really continues making power up to that point, if not, lower, best way to find your rev limiter/shiftpoints is to get the car dynoed so u can see hwere it stops making power. stock LT1s give up about 5800 - 6000 or so.

The + or - means +Xmph for the shift or -Xmph for the shift.

i use both sets that have markings by them....optimal for your car may be different, but for mostly stock its pretty good.....i would go up higher but i have my nitrous window switch set for 5800, so if shift at 58XX, the nitrous isnt shut off as long as it would be if i had it set to 59XX...nitrous runs +1/+2(58xx)....all motor +2/+3 (59XX)

3.73s---->
