what type is the 2400 and what type is the 3600? If you are going with a good 3600 like a 9.5 ACT, Yank of Vig, yeah I'd say around 4 tenths.

Depends on what type and brand of converter....I had a 2400-2800 LPE converter which came with the 383 package...unk who actually made it for LPE....Stepped up to a Vigilante 9.5" 3600 lockup and got 5 solid tenths...dont know what your set up is, but that was with 3.42s...no other changes made...by the way the Vig has been in car for 7 years with no complaints...

the one i have now is the stupid slp 2400 stall. i should have went bigger in the first place but since my tranny is going it would have taken it out with it. so ill just put it in my new tranny that is waiting to be installed

going from a "cheap" 2400 stall to a PI 3600 will be very noticeable.
do you have plans on a cam or headwork?
for a stock setup a 2800 stall is optimum.
why do want a 3600? why not a 3200?

I do have plans in the future for an all out engine buildup with heads and a cam but for now im going the all bolt on route.

i want a 3600 with a 2.0 str to work with my 3:73s to get a little softer launch but still be able to pull pretty hard at the top. the reason i want a 3600 is to get closer to my max torque range.
so im hoping to gain around 4-5 tenths from the slp to the vig convertor.

I really depends on the combo. A higher revving setup will gain more than a car with more low end torque.
