1/8 mile track results....how am I doing?

My home town hosted it's third annual 1/8 mile drags. The drags are held at our airport runway boasting next to no traction and wonderful speed bumps. Anyway, the best run I got (only made 3 on juice) was a 8.83 @ 94 mph.

Traction was pretty much nill, even with my ET streets.

I was kinda dissapointed, I was expecting at least mid - to low 8s but I suppose traction is the key and when you spray outta the hole that cant help to much.

nope 94....used a 100 shot all day. I was also very surprised at this....I even went to to booth to verify and they showed me. All day I was trapping no less that 90 mph on spray.

What kind of timing equipment were they using? 94 is awfully high for a 103 mph car with a 75 shot. With a 6 speed car, I'd give you 88 mph at absolute best.

Wow..just a second ago (before you edited your post) you were running a 75 shot. Oh well..either way, you didn't trap 94 unless there is something you're not disclosing about your mods.

ok, gotcha.

You don't have a 60' time? ET seems really bad, but your discription of the traction would explain that.

very possible....but how does that explain how I was trapping 90 mph all day long....guys there were running what they normally run at "professional tracks". I dunno, its very possible.....thats why I want to know how Im doing and if this sounds right etc etc...

90 mph with a 100 shot is believable. If you were spraying out of the hole and trapping 94 mph your 1/8 ET would be MUCH better. In order to trap that high with your HP, you would have to hook hard out of the hole and have a very light car set up for the track.

is there some kinda of multiplier to divide 1/4 mile times and speed into 1/8 mile times and speed.

well, I also ran 2 NA runs and trapped 81 and 83

Something is very wrong.

Most days I run 7.7's and 7.8's for my 1/8 mile splits. This is at 87-89mph. At 94 you should be in the very low 7 second range for ET in the 1/8.

There's no way you trapped 94. Get to a real track, something is up with their equipment

All I will say is the ET is way low for a 94mph run! Although with your mods and a 100shot, that mph is very possible, but you should be running like 7.4' or 7.5's!

I know guys with pretty much stock LS1's.(catback, lid, nittos, 100shot) That run 7.5's @ 94mph!
