I only wish I could be "fighting a 6800-6850 rpm stutter"!!! Awesome car, awesome times, congratulations!!! That is one high reving small block. I dont know any of the specs on your cam obviously, but Im assuming with a low 1.4/high 1.3 60' and getting that stutter taken care of you might be shaving a few tenths off an already amazing time.

Do you know if this has ever been done before, a 6-speed 355 w/LT1 heads in the 10's???

Also, could you give me a run-down of your suspension components and setup?

Congrats Tim. Its really good to see you finally reach the goal you had set with the car. You have definitely set that car up right and invested in things that count rather than wasting money on things that won't help your ET.

So what are your new plans? Going to a nitrous setup?

I look forward to getting mine back on the road after the motor is finished at Thunder and getting back on the track with you guys from time to time.

Keep us posted on the setup.

Ron

This is my problem.. For $35,000 including purchase, paint, converting to a single-turbo set-up, changing the trans and TC, lots of tuning and a few small mods... my friend has a car that out-runs a Ferrari ENZO (straight line anyway).

I don't guess you want to answer how much money you have in the car. I know... a high mileage Supra runs about $20k. So just say for $15k of mods (starting from scratch on a stock LT1)... can you get in the mid 10's n/a w/ a LT1 F-body. I don't want to strip the thing down to bare bones, and spray the hell out of it to get the times.

I'm thinking the Eng, trans, and rear alone is gonna be about $8k. Not counting all the mods I already have and all the suspension components I need.
for that kind of money(15) heck yea you can be in the 10s. A stroker motor with good afr heads. Throw a good rear end at it. I got way less than that in mods in my car. If your close put a little shot of the juice on it. Hey..if they can convert to a single turbo..you can put a power adder on there also.

there is some left in the car..this is actually my second time to the track with new tranny setup and different suspension setup. I can pull some more out of it with time. I don't know any other 6 speed 355s with ported stock lt1s that are in the 10s...there prolly are I just don't know who they are. Suspension....go look at my web site and you can see the whole setup instead of me typing it all out..lol.

Clint...DA was around -800

Ron(turbo)..thanks man..the car has had it in it for a while..I've just hade a string of bad luck since last years thunder race...last weekend was the first really clean full passes in almost a year.

I'm gonna put a little shot on it for a while. I have lt4s being worked as we speak. I'm gonna run the lt4 intake to start off with then convert over to a converted carb style intake. Then gonna throw a different cam at it. My setup is getting rather old and time for new stuff..lol. While I'm at it I'm gonna splay the bottom end and may stroke it..we will see. Somewhere in the mix..prolly after all the motor changes...I will convert to an auto. I hate to do it but there is a point where its just hard to make gains with a 6 speed. I've been told my many...convert over and I will pick up .2 to .3 from where I'm at now.

Can't wait to see your setup when its together..should move on down the road.
