Quickshotkimber ( James Eddy) went 11.05@120.1 stock bottom end (120K) hyd. roller, ported lt1 intake and factory casting heads, end of last season..... only weight mods was welds and passenger seat removed... in a 95 t-top Trans am with a meager 3:73 gear....

I haven't been to a 1/4 mile track yet, but I just came from an 1/8 mile one and ran a 7.13. I'm not sure what that would be in the 1/4, I'm sure it's around 11.2's and I'm a NA 355.

You guys are giving me very good hopes for low 11's in the near future. Need to do some tweeking on the tune then ill get some times. Those running 355's, what do you turn the engine to? Steve (SAR2K) told me my cam wouldnt make power much over 6600 so what do you think i should turn it to?

I will tell you guys this much it's not all in the cam and too big will hurt you more than too small. There are alot of guys running 11's with LT1's and small cams but the cars are setup nicely. The trick is 60' and using the power you make. There are some LS1 cars that make 320rwhp and run mid 11's but not many LT1's that do that. The reason being is b/c the cars are setup better, bigger converters, lower gears, lighter raceweights etc... Frank's car is a prime example and everyone knows who I am talking about. My car would run 10.90's N/A if I set it up for all out N/A but for now I rather go quicker and run n2o to run low 10's and hopefully high 9's on one of my next outings. I am only a low 1.4 60' away from my 9 sec. ET. Later Clint

Damn guys, where are all the strokers? Seems to me that all these cars are stock bottom end or 355 cars I'm hoping to be in the low 11's with my little 6" rod, 847 cammed 355.

I agree about the strokers, most of the quicker cars seem to be 355's or stock bottom ends. I wish I could've got to make more passes in my stroker though(only got two passes), I'm sure it would've went 10.90's n/a, even with the 10 bolt and 4l60e. I only had the stroker because I got a good deal on it, I really wanted a 355.

I sold both my stock bottem end and the 383 though, and my good buddy owns the stock bottem end setup, so hopefully later this year it'll be in the lower 11's n/a in a 6 speed.

Well, I'll let you know for sure how things turn out with my setup.

It's a 383, 11.3:1 CR, .039" quench, Advanced Induction "Full Port" heads, AI matched Comp XE grind cam w/ 24x/24x duration, mid .500's lift, Ferrea 6000 2.00/1.56 valves, full Comp valvetrain w/ titanium retainers, 977 springs, "R" lifters, ported & welded intake, 42#/hr injectors, OBD-I conversion via Madwolf, AS&M 58MM TB...list goes on and on. I'm hoping for mid-low 11's myself.

Wow, some of you guys are really rockin with stock bottom ends and 355's, you guys definitly have my respect. Almost makes me wish that my stock bottom end/heads/cam set up didnt toss rod bearings 5 an 6 on a chassis dyno run. Now when I get to the track in a few months, I have to make this 396 shine and put some numbers down like its supposed to. I will be sure to e-mail some of you guys if I need some help getting there. Keep up the great work, those LS1's dont look so tough after all

No one wants to say how high they turn their stock bottom/355 to run mid 11's or lower?

I believe most are on the stock PCM so no more than 7100 RPM and if they are stock bottom end I bet they are not over 6600.

If ya scared, say ya scared.....
