1/4 14.544 / R/T .534 / 60' 2.191 / 97.64MPH

Both runs @ 90+ degree ambient temp, 180/200 degree engine temp, sea level with 1/4 tank of 93 octane street gas plus 1 gal of Sunoco 110. Shifted "manually" at redline, +/- 1000 rev brake launches.

Mods are; SLP sfc's, Lakewood LCA's, SLP CAI, MSD 6A and coil and a BM shift improver other than these the car is stock to the 2.73 and muffler, car has 99K miles, no misses or tuning probs.

Thanks to all!!
First of all its pointless to run any octane higher than 93 if you have the stock compression ratio still. Lower octane gas (87) has more power potential than higher octane (93), this is because the lower octane gas has a higher btu rating than the higher octane, which basically means you get more heat during the explosion. The only thing octane does is prevent detonation and pre-ignition. The computer will only put in as much timing as it can before it pings. The LT1 stock is optimized to run on 93 from the factory, unless you change the compression its pointless to use higher octane gas. Second you should just put it in fourth and let the tranny do the shifting. Unless the engine is heavily modified (cam, heads, computer, shortblock) the stock shiftpoint is fine. Nothing above 5600 is necessary with just small mods(cai, headers, ignition). After 5500 the LT1 runs out of steam.

If you get tunercat or LT1 Edit... or some type of program for your model year (I didn't check your year), you can alter your computer's shift points. It can be altered for each gear.

You can start your thread over. I'm heading off to work and I can only see this one going downhill.

One important thing to remember for you is that YOU are asking the questions here and the other members are supplying answers for you for FREE. While you may be upset that some of the replies here are a bit off topic, that is no reason to be rude and obnoxious because that will get you nowhere. I suggest next time you politely ask people to stay on topic if it bothers you this bad. What you evidently don't realize is that each time somebody replies with something a little off topic in your thread they are basically giving you a free "TTT" which makes it more likely others who will reply on topic will read your post.

Anyway, start this again if you'd like and maybe it can get off on a more positive "tone".
