16" take offs used for 28x10x16 slicks ?
I would like to know if I could use firebird 16x8" take off wheels with hoosier 28x10x16" slicks on a 1997 Trans Am WS6. I do not want to have to mess around with after market wheels by having to install longer studs when you can get 16" take offs for $50.00 ea. and use stock lug nuts. I see that the 16" wheel has a 14 1/8" vs. 15 9/16 brake clearance diameter, not sure if this would be a problem or not. SLP shows them fitting 93 thru 2002 F-bodys.

Buddy of mine is running the 28x10x16 Hoosiers on 16x8 salad shooters. He only had to trim a little on the rear of the fender. If your trapping less than 120 mph you might not have to trim anything. He just did it as a safety precaution.

What settup can you run without having to trim the fenders or mess with wheel studs if you are only planning to use slicks to run once in a great while because drag radials spin all the way through first and second gear. I thought they would at least hook up some at the track but they are totally useless.

You can get 26x11.5x16 ET Streets and put them on a set of stock 16x8 wheels. I had them on the car and no modification was needed. I used to run them before I got my ET Drags. I pulled multiple low 1.6 60fts. with the ET Streets.
