1995 camaro Z28 Sat for 7 years
Hello - I have a 1995 Chevy Camero (15,000 miles) that has sat for over 7 years. Not started that whole time. I know it has fuel in the gas tank - and it started fine when I parked it - but wanted to know if anyone has any advise before I put a new battery in it and try to start it up again. Should I drain the tank? Clean the injectors? Not sure if the gas was before the ethanol change or not and don't want to mess it up if I do not have to.

Hi , 1995 Camaro z28. Sat torn apart for a blow gasket for 7 years. Just put it back together last year. Ended up, new fuel pump, fuel regulator. When I parked it, had fuel in tank, when I took apart for new fuel pump, was empty and was clean. I ran a lot of clean gas thru the system, got it running. I would also check your spark plugs. do a search on here for fuel pump, tanks etc and should find info on cars sitting for a while. I should have added, check the LT1 Tech forum.

You should really sell it to me.. lol 15k miles thats nice. Almost like a barn find like the 69 era muscle cars. I bet the condition of the car is flawless.
My suggestion tho would be to drain the fuel and try to get some oil into the plug holes because those cylinders should be dried out. There was a post about draining the fuel ill try to find for ya.

Ha - my boyfriend said I should sell it!! - Its not flawless - its a convertible so will need a new top and carpets cleaned up - but other then that its nice! Can't wait to drive it again! Thank you for finding the link to drain the fuel - I do not want to put a hole in the fuel tank if I do not have to.
