1996 camaro cold problems.

OK here is whats going on I start the car and sometimes it starts to spit and putter and almost die so I give it a few revs and it stops.If the car is not wormed up it will also do this driving down the road but goes away once I give it a few revs and it worms up to about 170.It has been doing this on and off sence december.My gess is stickey injectors or maby opti spark what do you guys think?Never has thrown a code yet.Thanks

Try disconnecting the battery for a few mins and reconnecting when it's cold. Then start it up and see if you have the same problem. If not, drive it around for a while (few days) and see if it comes back.

My car was doing something similar and eventually it threw a code (O2 Bank 1 Sensor 1 Not Responding). I replaced the sensor and the problem is gone.

I know the computer doesn't read from the O2s in open loop, so the only thing I could figure is the short term and/or long term fuel trim tables were messed up due to faulty data being fed in by a faulty O2 sensor. After disconnecting the battery, the car would run great for a short while and eventually would start having problems again. Another symptom my car would exhibit, was a VERY rough idle at times. The RPMs would drop to 400-500 RPMs, get real choppy, then shoot up over 1200 RPMs and settle at 900.

Ya the battery trick seemed to help.The car is doing exactly what your was doing But it just hasent set a code off yet next time it happens I am going to let it go and not rev it and hopefully the ses light comes on.Thanks alot.
