The problem is realy weird. When we first started the car after finishing, the air filter was hissing very loud and it was idling at 1k (high for an auto). We first thought it was a vacumn leak but there are none whatsoever that we can find. Everything was done clean. The car will stumble pretty violently in park or drive. The weird thing is, when you put it in drive it will stumble right when it changes gears and the note of the exhaust will change and the air filter will start to hiss louder with NO CHANGE in rpm. What the hell is that??

This happens after each stumble (the louder hissing with no rpm change). When you change gears again into neutral or park (not in gear) the exhaust note becomes more regular but it still stumbles. We can not figure out the problem, everything was done clean.

We tried running the car in open loop with the MAF unplugged and it did the same thing. We tried resetting the IAC, putting the AIR relay back in, basically we tried a bunch of **** and nothing worked. Pls help us figure out the problem. All we did was pull the air pump, cap off the air fittings on the exhaust and do plugs and wires and I'm 99.99% sure that the plugs and wires are correct all gapped properly and everything.

One weird thing is that when he put his CAI on his car, it did not have a place for the AIR system to pull air... so it was left just like that and we found out today while working on the car that the AIR pump had seized... I just don't get it, are we missing something?

No SES light or anything so I'm pretty sure it's something physical not electrical. Ideas???
