Added benefits of the Trick Flow: It won't rip, and it is soooo much easier to install, especially with a SLP cold air tube.

After I put the TF in, I went for a drive. When I got back, I left the engine running and put my hand on the elbow. It was cool to the touch. It may heat up the intake charge some, but not enough to really worry about.

well what i've noticed about my intake is that it's cool while driving b/c of airflow. After i turn the car off though and come back like a 1/2 hour later the intake will feel warm, from the heat desapation

I was actually surprised, the "heat soak" issue hadn't come up.
This year, I'm going to see what the different in temperature really is. I have a temperature laser gun, and while at the track, I'm going to take as many samples as I can from all other LT1 running rubber elbows.
Quite frankly, I don't think the heat is a factor. Not in the way we may think of. How much hotter? 10 degrees, if any?
Fact of the matter is, I want to see for myself the different between the two in heat degrees. In the meantime, show me!

a good test also is hookup a logger(datamaster, freescan) and see what the IAT reads with both elbows.
i would say 1-3* Tops if ANY.
the air moves to fast to pickup much heat i would think. maybe at less then 5% TPS
the air would be "slow" and then it may. but well see, i would run the test but i dont have the stock elbow any more..

Why was it cool to the touch? That's right, it transferred the heat into the intake charge It's not a matter of "if" but how much. If you're like me, every bit counts.

I don't know why this always comes up. It's real simple. If you want "bling", go for the the T/F elbow. If you want to save some money, weight, and heat transfer (no matter how minimal) get the 1LE.

I bought the Trick Flow elbow and here is what I found with the setup I have I have a SLP CAI and when I went to put it on it was off by 1 inch. I had to cut 1 inch off of the Trick flow intake elbow just to get it to fit also everything else was in stalled right . Did anybody else have to cut theirs to fit with the same setup as me??

I have the K&N FIPK and I didn't have to cut anything at all.
