2.02/1.60 valves in stock alum LT-1 heads

Will I see any real gain from putting bigger valves in ported alum heads? I'd like to be able to run these heads on a 383 in the future, but would I be better off with leaving the stock valves and having them ported, or will I see $500 worth of gains from going to a bigger valve?

I am running 2.02 and 1.6 valves in my stock ported casting heads on my 383, but I also run a GM847 cam too. I really see no point in going to a larger valve if no significant porting is done to the heads. Really it just depends on the cams needs. So what cam are you running?

I'm gonna be running the cc306. The heads will be ported pretty extensively, and I'd like to carry them over to a FI 383. So you're saying that the 2.02/1.60 setup wont be a waste?

"So you're saying that the 2.02/1.60 setup wont be a waste?"

For what your talking about there, that should compliment nicely.

Thats kinda what I did and didn't wanna hear. I'm jumpy to put my cam in and heads, on, but I wanna do it right the first time. So thats another $500 I gotta shell out. But it'll be worth it in the long run.

Thanks for the info. If anyone else reads this and has any input please feel free to add in!

Thanks again sleepy

If you are really going to end up with a FI 383 you will need, at a minimum, a cam other than the cc306. The cc306 is far from the ideal FI cam, so since you 'want to do it right the first time' why not call a professional and have them spec a cam for where you want to end up.

Fuel Injected 383 or Forced Induction 383?

If you're talking about a Forced Induction 383, the CC306 would work nicely IF it was ground on a 114-116 LSA.

If it is a Fuel Injected 383, the CC306 would work nicely as-is....or ground on a 110 LSA.. Bahahahaha
