200 MPH Conversion kits?

Hey yall I'm new to the board =). Anyway my question was, does anyone know where I can locate a 200 MPH Speedometer conversion kit for a 95 Z? I've looked around but all I found were LS1 conversions >.<

There aren't any 200mph gauge kits for the 93-96 style gauges.

You get up to 200mph often? You know, just because the speedometer reads 200mph, doesn't actually mean you can reach that speed. (Sorry for the non-value added post, I couldn't resist.)

Actually, you might have better luck with this topic in the Appearance forum.

I know I wouldn't be going 200MPH, but it would be different to have and non-car enthusiasts would be like .

Doug Rippie Motorsports does a conversion on LT1 Camaros called the DRM 400, Ive seen pictures of the instrument panel on this particular car and it had a 200 MPH speedo in it. Do a search through yahoo for Doug Rippie Motorsports and maybe that will get you on your way.

Here you go!

I've been wanting to do this for a while, just for the unique factor since I've yet to see a car with the setup.

Just haven't been able to bring myself to spend the dough.

That link I posted IS for 97-02 gauge clusters. There is NONE for the 93-96. If you have a 93-96, you will need to find a 97, and 97 only, cluster to have converted.

I believe granatelli or someone made a 200MPH conversion kit for the pre 97 clusters years ago but they are no longer in production. There was a thread on cz28.com that if enough interest was made a perticular company was going to make some more but I don't remember what happened to it or if it ever fell through. Do a search, you might find it.

Wouldnt it just take a sticker and the reprogramming of the stock pcm?

I believe there's actually a piece of the speedometer mechanism that needs to be redone too. Don't quote me on that though.
