Re: 2014 Corvette will have an LT1???
The block seems to be LSX and the bore centers are still 4.5 inches on center. There are many changes from the LTx: variable cam and valve timing, direct injection and cylander de- activation (with exhaust valve control when running fewer plugs), reworked pistons, modded ECM, reworked heads and they upped the compression. The headers are cast AL.
It does have variable cam phasing, direct injection, cylinder deactivation made possible with collapsible lifters, it does have contoured pistons to produce a combustion chamber for the direct injection. 11.5:1 compression with completely brand new heads (not reworked) it doesn't have a modded ECM it has a brand new ECM and the exhaust manifolds are most certainly cast from iron not aluminum. AL exhaust manifolds would be ridiculous on a street car because they would not be durable enough and with enough sustained high engine loading they would melt.

OK.... this was "interesting" but it's not LT1 Tech, and its starting to degenerate into name calling. Time to close it.
