I have a gm847 with 1.6rr's and home ported heads on a forged 355. i'm pretty ssure I need to spin it to around 6800. I've got all the bolt ons as well. I also plan on going to a single-plane intake in about a year. I just found a guy thats selling his 30# accels for $75 shipped. Should I take it or do I need bigger injectors? If I went ahead and got injectors for my future setup, would they not complement my current setup?

Right now I'm pushing ~400rwhp or ~460fwhp. When I get the super vic I will make other upgrades and hope to be pushing ~500rwhp or ~575fwhp by then.

Get 42# and later up your FP to cover the extra HP.

I believe at 500rwhp 36# would probably be closer to what you need, I believe 30# are good to about 425 or so

I think it would be close with 30lbs if you start to get around 450 or so. If you are at 400 rwhp right now I think you could go 36lbs/hr and grow into them as you push for your 500 rwhp goal. On a side note I would stay away from Accel injectors. I personally haven't owned them, but I have read quite a few posts and seen a few mpegs of people who have serious problems with them. A lot of people use SVO injectors and you can find them for sale here when people upgrade in good shape for fairly cheap.

So would I lose anything if I went ahead and got some 36# injectors right now? I heard that if they're too big, their spray pattern isn't as clean. Is this true?

If ya don't want to buy another set when ya go for 500RWHP ya need to get 42's and a tune.
At 575FWHP 36# will have a 94.7% DC@45PSI with a BSFC of .50,that WILL NOT make it.The spray pattern don't count if they won't make the power.

I dont think you understand me fully. Will 42# injectors hurt me for the time being? Are you saying that tuned, for now, either will be equally effiecient? In that case, I want some 42# injectors. Is 42# the smallest you would want to go with 575fwhp?

They won't hurt ya with a good tune and as far as I know 42's are the next in line for popular injectors after 36's ie.cheaper price. Somebody makes a 38lb (never used them)and ya will max them out with 575FWHP.It takes a 37.8lb@45PSI to make the HP.
Unless ya want to buy a big pump and turn the FP WAY UP To 50PSI on the 36's.That gives ya a 89.8 DC@.50BSFC.That is MAXED out.But ya could go even higher with FP if ya got that big pump and fuel system$$$$$$.

In that case I will go with the 42# injectors as long as they are not too much more than the 36# injectors. Where should I buy them from?

Get a set of Ford Motorsport. I would shop around and see if I couldn't catch some on sale on some of the Ford sites or Summett.

Ask or PM Ion or Bryan about the tuning and what ya are going to do later.

OK, if ya REALLY check them out,but ya don;'t really know what ya are getting.
I have got set's off of there before but they were balanced set's and called the injection house that balanced them to see.

30's will do you fine...but if you can get a deal on 42's...****** them up.

Common prices for 30's...$100 and for 42's...$200.
