Re: 383 build up questions
I tried to go the kit route which limited me in choices for connecting rod length etc. Most 383 kits are not set up for supercharger setup (low compression ratios). Here's were I got mine http://www.sdpc2000.com/catalog/3258...Assemblies.htm These kits are in the $2500 range though...

Re: 383 build up questions
Most companies offer a low compression 383 kit. Eagle includes a 4340 crank, H beam rods, and JE/SRP pistons. You can get them from Combination Motorsports or most of the other vendors.

Re: 383 build up questions
A 355 with some juice would be a better option for a budget.
$3k is a drop in the bucket when you start talking about a FI build on an LT1. Want to guess how much I have into my 383/T trim setup right now. I sure don't.

you make it seem like a 10.5 is no good.thats what i want.a ten second car.how much is your compression.also what would be better.a 383 low compression with low boost or a 355 low compression higher boost.also can i have a 355 with a stroker bottom end

A 355 and a 383 will have the same 4.030 bore. The displacement comes from the crankshaft. 3.75" would be a 383, 3.48 would be a 355.
And the amount of boost you will see will be dependent on the engine you put the blower on. Don't think of it in terms of a number on a gauge, think of it in terms of air flow through the engine. More air = more power. More boost = more heat.

Re: 383 build up questions
You should thoroughly think through all the aspects of a FI LT1 before you dive in. It ain't cheap to do it right, and if you don't do it right you would be way better of with a "done right" N/A setup.
IMHO, LT1 F-bodys are not the world's best choice for a blower. Really crowded under the hood, among other things. There are only a few I'm aware of that have turned out stellar.
