383 emissions

383 emissions
I rebuilt my 95 Z28 from the ground up a few years ago while Connecticut had suspended their emsissions testing. It is now a supercharged 383 with LT4 hotcam. I have to pass a tail pipe test soon. It looks like I will be getting the two speed idle test. No dynos in the area have gas analysers to pre-measure emissions for me. What are the effects of the super charger? Maybe nothing because there is no load on this test. Some people say alcohol in the fuel helps emissions. Is that true? If so, why? What are the effects of timing on no and co. What about plug temps and gap? What about AFR settings? Maybe leaning it out would decrease CO but hurt NOx? What about coolant temp (ie fan settings). Is it better to run hotter? I currently have a pcmforless tune but I'll be heading to a dyno for some fine tuning with wideband. Unfortunately I also do not have the egr hooked up only because the long tubes had no port for it. Check my sig for mods. Thanks!

Re: 383 emissions
I don't think the lack of EGR will hurt because of the 112 LSA of the Hot Cam.
I pass in Cleve. OH with a 215/224/112 cam with dual cats and no EGR. I have a PCMforless tune.
Our limits here are:
HC 114.0 PPM 13.4
CO 0.63 % 0.00
NO 796.0 PPM 3.0
CO2 N/A % 6.76
The second column are my readings.

Re: 383 emissions
ive passed CT emssions on the roller, go to harte Chevrolet in Meriden they do not look for emissions equip, nor cat placement. I have a 383 and a hotcam at the time and passed. I just put a 180 thermo in it, rubbing alcohol, and drove the car hard.
I had a rich PCM forless tune, i put the cat 3/4 down the car since I have LT headers.
