The stock injectors are all done at 380 flywheel. This will limit your rpm.

yeah...pushrods need to be measured since you 'decked' the block. you cut down on the deck height...you cut down the pushrod length.

i had a 383 ltx based camaro and it was extremely sluggish after about 5k rpm with stock injectors. threw some lucas 36#'ers in there and it woke the beast up...i could definitely feel the difference in that one

also, i had the 306 cam in mine. i was completely unsatisfied with it. go with a custom grind for 300 bucks...it's worth it.

When the stock injectors (24.9#/HR programmed value) are "done" depends in part on how efficiently the engine is tuned, how efficiently it burns and how sensitive the injector is to going over 90% DC. With an efficient combustion chamber and a good tune, its possible to go over 400 flywheel HP. But not recommended. Operating at a higher fuel pressure will increase the injector capacity. But the PCM still has to be tuned for the new flow rating.

Do not push it max power with stock injectors, or it will probably detonate.

The Z06 injectors aren't going to help you much. They don't flow much different than the stock LT1 injectors, when you run them at the LT1's 43.5psi fuel pressure. The Z06's are flow rated at 58psi.

Not to thread jack but I have a similar build and goals but I have Mahle powerpac forged pistons, splayed 4 bolt mains, 4340 forged crank & rods and a 847 cam what's the max nitrous shot for the Mahle forged pistons.

Going from injuneers post from where he said minmum he would use is 36# id say yea the 42's will be good for you now and down the road if you ever need more fuel I have a set of 42# racetronix, but are not installed.

Do you have the flow numbers on those heads?.. I hear loyd can make those LT4 flow alot.

Would you estimate the hp quite a bit higher with a LE4 cam.?

Use head studs and good gaskets.
the speed pro TRW forged pistons are some of the strongest pistons made...unfortunately, also some of the heaviest as well

By quoting me, are you trying to tell me this as if I don't know anything about pistons

At the time that I posted that, he did not specify forged, and I had assumed Speed Pro replacement series pistons.

wasnt sure if you knew anything about the speed pros. Most people overlook them since they are a cheap piston, they assume they are crap

CC306 is a great street cam for a 383 at 3 degrees advanced. I'd love to get an LE2 cam in mine though to maximize my set up and still run good on a 200 shot. The absolute least I'd go is something on a 110LSA or less 230 or 240 durations depending on your desired rpm range and lift to max out your heads. Seriously the CC306 lift won't get close to maximizing your top end. Take it from someone who's been running it for 3yrs. On mine the SVO 30# Injectors leaned out at 5300rpm after the LE ported intake and PAC1218 springs were installed. I run a set of Delphi 38lb now and they work great. 42lb injectors are a good size if you plan on going with a good custom grind to maximize your set up.

As a side note the Speed Pro Forged pistons I've personaly seen take an unkown to me number of 175 to 300 shot of nitrous with no issues. Just trying to burn em up. The only bad thing as stated is the weight which can kill a rod if a good set isn't purchased. Also ring gaps are VERY important for the desired amount of nitrous.
