Balancing usually runs about $200 depending on if and how much heavy metal has to be added to the crank. My machine shop has a base price of $150 and charges an additional $45 for each piece of metal that has to be added. I had to have 2 pieces added to my crank(Eagle forged). Its also a good ideal to have the balance of the damper and clutch assembly checked also.

So if I get a crank that is already internally balanced, what are my chances of it needing much balancing work?

Stock flywheel.
