383 Stall

I am building a 383 stroker and im running low on funds for it. I want to get a converter that has a stall around 2800. What do you guys recomend as a good one. Keep in mind im low on cash. FYI I already purchased a shift kit. I also plan on installing a 150 shot in the future.

cheap = breaks. save some cash and get a good stall. it really sucks to drive for 3,000 miles then have a lockup clutch come apart ruining your converter and your transmission. then you're stuck tearing out the transmission, having it rebuilt, and buying a new converter.

spend a little more now, or spend ALOT more later.

looks to me like they dont offer a stall for a 4L60E. just remember you get what you pay for. I had a bad experiance and learned first hand. my next stall will be from a quality brand.

LOL, That is cheap for a good converter. Even the TCI converters are like 400 and they are the bottom of the barrel from what i hear.

Buy a used converter off someone in here.. I'm sure someone around is selling a used fuddle/vigi/yank converter for half the cost of new. I think I sold my Vigi for 350 shipped.

I know how you feel man. I had the same dilemma. The converter and gears are whats going to make a night and day difference in your ride. Dont skimp on those if your going all out with the 383. You do that 383 and put that stock converter in your still going to enjoy the power, but when you finally put a quality converter in your going to kick yourself for not doing it earlier.

And by the way, are you a former Eclipse owner? DSM?

what you guys think about this one
Street Series
The Street Series converters are a great lower priced alternative to the Performance and HP/Street Series converters. These converters will wake up your setup and are a good choice for a solid boost in acceleration.
