I made 402rwhp/380rwtq with my 383, 10.0 cr, LT's and AFR 195 heads with a 224/230 cam, I later swapped to a CC306 and went to 10.5cr for racing. It was a nice cam for daily use though....

seth from combo told me that he has cars funning .595 lift on those springs and reving to almost 7k rpm with no probs for awhile now.

my shop called TWICE to verify this with seth, and another guy there (forget his name).

im going to be running the GM847 with .595 exhaust lift on those springs............so if i have any probs......you guys will be the first to hear about it!!!

btw, the only reason im not getting bigger springs now, is because ill have ported heads for xmas, so im running the stock heads for 2 months, and i dont wanna bother talking them off to machine for bigger springs etc.
ill put bigger springs on the new heads.

yeah...he said he recommended putting better springs if you are going through the trouble of a total rebuild(like me) and running that close to those springs limits or over .600lift(duh). He also said, that they will never bind and take tolerances that close...because the retainer will hit/bottom out before the springs would able to bind. Take it how you want...I myself would never want to run that close to the limits, just my opinion.

Well...I swapped my cam(mailed it back today). Trading it for the 227/233 .560".569" 112lsa. I know only...one step up(or so compared to you stroker, huge cam guys), but this will give me the little extra rpms(hp) I wanted on the top end and still keep the tq pretty much like the other cam without sacrificing it all. Besides, nothing is together yet, so this is an easy swap. They said the 227/233 will spin to about 6500rpm with good heads/intake/etc...which I have, and be at or above 400 to the tires with the right combo. Ill let you all know how it turns out, eventually. Thanks guys. Later.
