I am shopping around for a bigger throttle body. My 95Z has a couple of bolt on mods right now, but i am going to be installing headers and a cai. I havent seen a lot of people using the 58mm throttle body, why is that or am i just looking in the wrong places? Which is better to have installed 52 or 58? thanks

You don't need a 58mm yet, I would go with the 52 (heck, that's what i'm ordering in a few days). Besides you need to modify thei ntake manifold to use the 58mm.

GM High Tech Performance did a throttlebody sway on a LT1 Camaro several moths ago from a 48 to 52 to 58mm. Between then 48 to the 58 mm they saw a 3 hp gain. Unless you plan to run big HP over 500 or higher a 52mm will do just fine. I ran 12.89@102 on a head and cam with a higher stall and 3.73 gears in a 4500 lb boat with a 52mm throttlebody. And with my new setup I kept the 52mm. Good luck!

I'm putting in my 383 with all kinds of mods and I'm going with the 52. There is no need for the 58 unless your running huge HP.

As they said, a 52mm. I only have headers, exhaust, and CAI, and I put on a BBK 52mm TB.
