52 TB or 58TB?

I want to eventually have a full exhaust, cam, you know that sort of thing in the next 2 years or so. What TB should I get, 52 or 58?

If all you're doing is the cam, etc. (no heads), your stocker will do just fine. In fact, plenty of folks just stick with it for heads and cam and have great #'s. I'd put the TB $$ towards the build up.

go for the 58 if you do it. I don't think it is worth the money myself. But if you do it go 58. I personally have seen results form a 52 to a 58 on a bolton car. If i hear one more person say that it is too much, I will personally come out there and bitch slap them. Unless you can show me proof of your calim that it would be too much, don't post.

Hay hay hay.. Show us your proof that 58 TB is better than 52. With minor bottom and top part modifications, I don't think it is worth going higher than 52mm TB. Remember larger TB will slow down your air velocity in the intake and you will loose some bottom end power. Just my 0.02.

There is really no need to go to a larger than 48mm throttle body with the changes that you are planning. If you are N/A the factory throttle body is good well into the tens. At that point the head flow becomes more of a limiting factor than the throttle body (Stock LT1 castings).
If you see a gain when going to a larger throttle body it is probably that you were running too rich before. LT1 Edit would be a better buy.

Good Luck.

Cool

I have yet to hear one single person using one of my 52mm throttle bodies say they lost power. From stock cars to 383 strokers.

Atljar is supposed to be giving me some track results here very soon of a back to back run. If not, i'm doing it next time I go to the track if I can round up some slicks.

back to back runs between a 52 and 58 on a 96 impala with minimal bolt ons. .2 in the 1/4. same 60' . Not sure if he posts on here or not, but 4DRHTRD on AZSR.com, AZFBA.com. As soon as I am doneith my project, I will gladly do a dyno of a 48, 52, and then a 58.

Yup, one in my car, and one busy blowing up that 383 in yours Next time it would help if you bought fuel injectors that worked.
