600 dollar install high?
I was told by a dealer... i know dealers tend to rip you off... that it would be somewhere around 600 dollars to install midlengths, depending on which brand i get and whether or not i need a y pipe. He said that most headers dont hook up properly to the stock exhaust... but i would be going with a new exhaust at the same time. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
I was considering the corsa cat back, just because it would be slightly quieter, but then again i was thinking of the gmmg chambered exhaust. Any emissions problems with the gmmg? and are the performance gains comparable to most other exhausts?
OR if youd rather just answer this. What would be a combo that wouldnt require altering?

I've heard it takes ~5-6 hrs...which in dealerr money=$600. You're going to have to get some sort of pipe made if it doesn't come with it. Corsa is a good choice and so is Borla. You could also go with the GMMG or even the loud mouth. The other day there was a post with the mufflers used in the GMMG exhaust...which you could get fabricated for less. I wouldn't go through the dealer...look at going through someone here on the board or another shop. Always use your resources!! My .02.

it took a friend and I 22 hours of labor to install shorties, without a lift. A lift and power tools could probably reduce that to 15 or so, but its still a PITA. IMO I would never let anyone that doesn't regularly work on or even specialize in F-bodies touch that install.

Do em' yourself, there not as bad as everyone says. I don't know anything and i did them myself on a gravel driveway in about 20 hours, and i was taking my time, lots of breaks.
Most mids come with a y pipe, my Arizona Speed and Marine headers bolt up to the cat, which needed a flange welded on to it. Its nice cause you could unbolt the cat and put an off road pipe on if you wanted to.

is the loudmouth with shorties/mids much louder than stock manifolds with the loudmouth, because i like how loud the loudmouth is right now, but i wouldn't mind having headers, but i dont want it get much louder...any help?
