'89 350 Z28 vs. '94 LT1

'89 Z.....350 ...Auto.....52 mm TB, y-pipe, edelbrock headers, high flow cat, flowmasters, K&N intake

'94 LT1, A4....K&N intake, Accel ignition , gutted cats


Which car is faster?? and by how much.

could be a good race if both drivers are good

ill give the win to the better driver those cars are fairly evenly matched

If I remember correctly, which I don't from time to time, the 94 LT1 HP and Torque rating are a good bit above any of the 3rd gen's... but then again, it comes down to the driver either way

Being that it's a MAF car it only had 230HP stock so with mods maybe 255HP and the torque should be equal to the LT1's.

My friends 90 350 with no headers but alot more other mods has ran a best of 14.0 and my 1994 Trans Am which is about equql to your car ran a best of 13.98.

Really, i didnt know they had that low of HP. Why are they so low for being such a high displacement engine? The design?

It was the 80's, The 86 1/2 to 89 Cmaro 350 was rated at 230HP and the Firebirds was rated at 225HP

The intake runners primarely kept these cars from running to there full potensial(sp) which is why they dont have the numbers the lt1 have. The heads also have something to do with that as well.

I'd say the LT1 "should" be faster, but I've seen lt1's run mid 14s and L98s run low 14s both in relatively stock form. So it really probably depends on the driver the most.
