93 lt1 can't be tuned at local dyno shop?

MikeGyver,
How so? Because you can use LT1Edit? Or you have SEFI? OBD-I LT1 runs just fine but it takes a bit more effort to tune. I'm happy with mine but struggling to get it running for the first time. The AutoProm is a nice unit and cheaper to purchase and run than LT1Edit.

I don't know if you'd have to change the engine harness which would be a pain, but the 95 system is 1000000000000x nicer to work with.

95 is obd1, it's better than 96-97 obd2, and lt1edit is crap. tunercats+datamasters+cable for what $150 (another $100? to register datamasters) and unlimited tuning on any number of 94-95 lt1s in speed density or maf mode. Flash based pcm, no eprom or eeprom chips to deal with.

I own LT1Edit, and it is junk IMHO. No support, poorly executed, lacking features, etc.
BTW, I picked up a couple of 94-95 PCMs for around $50 each, so they are out there. Also, IIRC you can use the PCM of any vehicle with an LT1 derivative, such as the iron head Caprice and RoadMaster.

In tunercats, once you realize you can manipulate the 3d graphs graphically (not just numberically) you can realllly dial in and smooth the maps and get the car running awesome, even running a 2bar map sensor.

Damn.....I have DST and didn't know you could do that. I just tried it and sure enough it works. Just click on the intersection of two lines, it highlights the cell, and you can adjust it up or down by the graph.
