I have a 93 z28 the car is a canadian car i'm not sure this makes a difference. The car was baught by my stepson the previous owners replaced the old cold air intake with a after market air breather and threw away the shaft for the old filter the car now has a hose that use to run from the smog pomp or filtration system to the old cold air intake with out it being pluged up the car will not start every once in a while and when i clog it up the car starts but stalls after a while of driving it. could anyone please tell me what the problem might be thanks.

Just curious: is this an Lt1 engine? I.e. is it fuel injected or does it have a carburator? Why--because I don't quite understand what you mean by the "shaft" in re the air filter.

Your talking about the smog pump what has a tube that hooks up tot he original air box.

This is not what is making your car stall unless maybe its shorting out but I think it would just blow the fuse.

Give us some more info man. Like does it only do it when the car is hot? cold start?
