94 LT motor in 96 Z28

I recently put the motor i had in my 94 Z28 in my 96 and changed everything to make it work. The only problem i'm having is getting the pin out of the cam from the motor since the one in my 94 was shorter than the 96. How do i get the pin out to change them? I've tried using vice grips and pliers to pull them but they wont budge. Is there a lil secret to getting them out?

Thanks,
Steven D.

I've got an offer to a guy for his hotcam with a 93-95 dowel pin, and I have a '97 so I'll be watching this thread.

Assuming money isn't an issue, I'd take it to a local machine shop.

You need something like this......(maybe not in metric...but you get the idea)....

You may be able to find one at Autozone with their loan a tool deal. I'm not sure if they have it though.

Well I Built a motor with the CC306 and pulled the pin on that cam with vise grips. This one i cant. I'd take the cams to a machine shop but one of the cam's is in the motor in my car.

I suppose you could just convert to a vented opti if you don't want to pull the cam out.
You'll have to swap the timing cover as well.

I switched the opti and the timing cover as well as moved the cps over to the other motor.

I probably should have said that i had a 94 Z28 that got totaled so i kept the motor since it had less than 1k miles on it. I pretty much converted the motor over to where it was for a 95^ I just need to get the pin out of the cams to switch them.
