95 Z28 6 speed hit in rear, drivetrain good, $950, what to look for?
Tomorrow I'm going to look at a 1995 Camaro Z28 LT1 w/ 6 speed, was hit hard in the rear. Title is clean (?), but the car itself is not salvageable. The drivetrain is good according to the owner (including rear end), and it has 125,000 miles on it. I'm interested in buying this for the tranny and rear end for my 89, and my friend is gonna swap the interior into the 86 IROC he is hoping to buy. For the price, I think its worth it, but I don't know how much more life the transmission has. The engine its gonna be matched up with probaly wont be seeing much more than 375 horsepower, and possibly a small dose of dr. n2o for at the track. What should I be looking for tomorrow, and should I be happy with the price? What are the things i need to check out specificly to make sure nothings FUBR?
Thanks,
-Chris

if it was hit in the rear I would make sure the driveshaft hasn't been forced into the tranny and caused extensive damage there. If everything is good 950 might be ok just to get an engine and tranny to build up and install, also is your friend helping you with some $$$ for what he wants out of it?

yeah, we havnt worked out the price yet, but if i takes the engine (possibly) and the interior, and i take the rear end and transmission, we could split the cost 50/50, then split whatever we make off of selling any other parts....
how do i check to make sure the transmission is good?
