Exclamation 95 z28 air intake elbow

need a need Ai Elbow asap for my 95 z28 Lt1..
GM dealer said they are discontinued. i found some online
(trickflow,jegs,1le) but they dont have the long "silencer" tube at the bottom..
>does it effect anything if i get a new elbow without one????

if not, witch does anybody recommend the best????

Since this isn't an "exhaust" question, let's move this thread to "LT1 Based Engine Tech".

There is no problem with deleting the silencer tube. In fact the stock intake elbow for the cars with the "1LE" option did not have the silencer tube.

I thought the 1LE rubber elbow was still available. That would be the best replacement. The absence of the silencer tube makes it easier to install, and the rubber is going to resist heat transfer from the engine compartment better than metal. Aluminum is a great heat conductor.

Still a good part number and available. It is actually a better piece than the original that has the silencer.

There are recommendations on my website for buying GM parts. This GM part is often resold by other shops on the internet. You might search to see if you can get a better price somewhere.
