96-97 SLP shorties collector bolts

I just purchased a set of 96-97 SLP shorty headers off the board here and was wondering where I can get a set of bolts for the collectors? I was thinking about buying the SLP install kit but I've done a search on here and everybody said it was junk.

Also I also found on a search that I can get collector gaskets from AutoZone too, is this true or do I have to try to go through SLP or a GM dealer?

i would use percy's aluminum gaskets, you can get them on summit. The collector gasket is a standard 2.5", you can get them almost everywhere.
As far as bolts, I am using stage 8 locking bolts on the collectors. Try www.thunderracing.com they probably have the bolts.

If you have dual-cat shorties you will need the wierd collector gasket. I didn't use the Kit, I just bought everything separately, including fellpros, arp bolts, etc. I did, however, order the collector gaskets from SLP no. 30031 for $10.50. I used regular grade 8 bolts 3/8-16x 1 1/2 for the collector to y pipe connections.

Well I guess I'm SOL on getting the collector gaskets from SLP without buying the whole kit. They don't list them seperate anymore, I even did the search with the part # 30031.

Does anybody know if I can get these from AutoZone or from GM?

Will the collector gaskets that AutoZone list from a '97 Trans Am work? They don't have pictures of them but they do list the passenger side and driver side seperatly.

Yes, the gaskets from Autozone will work. They probably will have the R/hand in stock but will have to order the L/hand. The L/hand gasket is a funky triangle shape. Your stock collector bolts should work.

Well, I'd just call them and order the part if you want it. However, if you can get it from somewhere else, go for it.

Might be the Detroit facility 248-288-3066, ext 119

You can buy the gaskets at any autozona of checker auto parts. Felpro makes them. The one for the drivers side is not very common, but they should definately be able to get them in a day or 2. Thanks where I got mine.

Thanks for the help guys. I got the gaskets from Advance Auto. They had the passenger one in stock and had the driver side one in for me the next day. They were roughly $4 a piece. I just went to a friend of mines race shop and got a set of grade 8 nuts and bolts for the collectors.
