96 LT1 Starts then DIES!!!
I have a 96 SS Camaro that i just bought that had not been running for 3-4 years. At first it had no crank, after messing with the VATS determined it was the TDR and i bypassed by jumping purple to yellow wire. Now it only runs for 10-15 secs and it just dies. Ives checked fuel pressure and it always stays around 41psi even when cranking. I drained the old gas and put in 5 gallons of premium. Changed fuel filter and oil. Had the ICM tested 16times and it passed every time. Checked for codes and had none. Please HELP

Re: 96 LT1 Starts then DIES!!!
Still could be a VATS issue, though I would have thought you would have a trouble code for the PCM not getting the fuel enable signal (which sounds like may be your problem). With VATS, bypassing the TDR only lets you crank the engine, it does not allow the engine to continue running. In your case, the BCM has to send a signal to the PCM to allow the engine to continue to receive fuel. If your problem is that this signal is not being provided by the BCM, it or perhaps some wiring may be at fault. If the BCM is bad, then you would either need to replace it, buy a bypass module or have VATS programmed out.
I can't be positive this is your issue, but since you already had to fiddle with VATS to get it to crank, it may be. You could use a noid light to see if your injectors are being shut down just before it dies or look for the 50 Hz fuel enable signal from the BCM.

so shoebox i tried bypassing the vats with a resistor i cut the white wires and put in the resistor with no change, pulled out the resistor with the wires cut and it still does the same thing any other suggestions please help ive also replaced the ecu and still no change, checked with noid light and injectors do seem to be shutting down right before it dies

might consider having the vats tuned out. I recently had the pcm ignition fuse not making good contact and it wouldnt fire the injectors or prime the pump at key on or allow connection to pcm to check codes. What I learned in that is vats doesnt stop communication with pcm under normal operation, vats tuned out doesnt require any bipass for preventing fuel(still needed for the starter). The second pcm fuse shuts fuel pump and other key components but will still crank. The dealership can get a new (probably remanufactured) pcm for $200.

Baker Electronix - GM VATS Bypass
Would this work instead of getting my pcm re-tuned? I havent found anyone saying that it worked. I do think it is VATS related but I think its the bcm not sending the right singal to the pcm. Anyone else tried this with also by passing TDR?
