97 M6 dynoed today!!

The car has only a Moroso CAI, Vortec elbow, Airfoil, 160 stat and a Magnaflow cat-back w/ a cut out. (cut out closed off made 1 less HP and 1 less pound of TQ) Also car has 84,000miles on it.

These are SAE corrected #s

MAX HP= 279.7 @ 5,200rpms

Max TQ= 316.9 @ 2,300rpms

The Tq was flat as a board making no less than 310 all the way untill 4,700rpms and then it started to drop.

Actual (uncorrected) #s were:

Max HP= 284

Max TQ= 322

The car was let sit for 25 min to cool down but a 2nd dyno pull right after that back up the above #s.

Tell me what you think,
Jason Coffman

I'm impressed. I've got a 97 M6 WS6 and I'm modding it shortly. I'm not trying to steal your post but what do you think I'd pull?
1)Borla cat-back
2)off-road pipe
3)94-95 MAC single cat headers
4)Taylor OVC wires
5)NGK TR55 plugs
6)TB bypass

Car has 40,000 miles , factory ram air(K&N filter)and I run Mobil 1 5W30
Thanks

that is awesome bet you were happy. I have about the same setup, Moroso, same mods and Borla catback. 72k miles, I'd love to dyno prior next weekend when the longtubes go in and cats come off.

I think those are AWESOME numbers for your mods. Most cars I've seen with comparable mods are in the 270 horse range with the six speed.

I believe my first dyno was pretty close to that (284/322). The guy doing the dyno said it was the strongest stock LT1 he had ever dyno'd. I would say those are very good numbers.

Depending on the headers to be honest.. If we are talking about dynomax headers then yes 10 is be expected but w/ a bigger shorty like the slp i thinkyou should be closer to the 20hp mark..

Thanks all for the positive replies!! After a 2 year dry spell without a Fbody its nice to have another one but it sucks to start all over again. Guess I build a even nicer one this time!!

Pretty similar to mine. I got 277hp and 330tq corrected on an A4 with ignition issues and no headers. my tq peaked but my hp didnt. Were your lines pretty smooth in the upper RPMs? Mine were very very choppy after 4300 or so.

Mine lines were choppy ^^^^^ like that also after 4300rpms also... I dont know what causes it but figured it was a little knock or something.
