Yes it is true that an m6 has less drivetrtrain loss than an a4, but unless your making some serious hp, that is not gonna really matter. I think the m6 gives up 10% drivetrain loss while the a4 gives 15%. On a stock car thats like 9 or 10 hp, so like i said before, unless your making some serious hp, its not gonna matter. M6's win hands down on the fun factor, but you also have to worry about clutches and rearends. Yeah, an a4 usually has to get rebuilt after awhile, but if you put all new heavy duty clutches and parts in it, match it with a stall and shift kit, you are pretty much ready to go.

One other thing to consider, I see many more guys doing the "A4 to M6 conversion" than the other way around.

Oh, and a 5% difference in drivetrain loss is more like 14 FWHP or, 12 RWHP.

Thanks for correcting me on that, its 14.25hp on 96-97 car. So yeah m6 will win at a roll IF shifted properly. But im still goin with what i said before, A4's are quicker.

I have an M6, but since I do alot of drag racing sometimes I wish I had bought an automatic. But since I spend most of my time driving on the street, I have stuck with the M6.
