A4 Shifting Problems

I'm having problems with my 95 z28 shifter. When i go from park to reverse, the shifter moves really fast. all the other shifts are normal.

heres the problem -
when im in drive, and i go up to reverse, it wont lock in reverse, itll go into neutral. if i move it up half way to park, then down, it goes into reverse

i opened the console up and it just doesnt seem to click down into that groove if i dont push it up a little into park, then down into reverse. anyone know what this is?

it started happening last night.. ;(

Try adjusting you shifter cable at the tranny end of it. There is a write up on Shoebox's site.
Hope you dont mind, Shoebox.

Mine did the same thing...just adjust your linkage...it is simple. I thought something was definately wrong and I took it in and they adjusted the linkage in a few seconds. Try checking that out.
