A couple small corrections... AFR 215cc raised runner heads, and it's not in the RX-7 yet.

BTW, that was with ignition break-up, prior to tuning. The engine still hasn't been final tuned with a fully functional ignition.

WOW, Im drooling at that picture, and the Dyno numbers. What would the cost about be on a motor like that all said and done?

Also, what kind of block is that, it looks LT1, but it looks aluminum, unless its just coated with something, or its not LT1??

Another thing, was he setting it up basically for HP, cuz the TQ seems low? (low in respect to the HP, not like 530ft/lbs of tq is low or anything.)

One exactly like it would be over $30k, but if you skipped the 36 lb. billet crank, 505 gram billet rods, Ti valves, shaft rockers, and the rest of the exotic stuff, it would probably cost $15-20k. There's still a lot of money in the top end. ~$5k in the bare heads and porting alone, not to mention the intake.

It's an LT1 block, painted with Eastwood Company's "Aluma-blast" aluminum paint.

550+ lb-ft. isn't bad, but you're right, the engine wasn't built for torque. My Hogan's intake is about 1/2" shorter than a stock LT1 intake for more hood clearance in my car, and as you can see from the pictures below, the intake runners are fairly short.

Torque wasn't a major concern for a ~2,700 lb. car (1995 RX-7), so we built for high end power to give the car a better chance of hooking up on the street, not that it won't need the RaceLogic traction control system I'll be using.

Sounds like that car is going to be quite rediculous! Is it for some kind of competition, or does he just have too much money that he doesnt know what to do with? Ive seen some info on what is happening to the car itself, but that was awhile ago, is there a website made up for it?

Originally it was being built with the Silver State Classic and open road course use in mind, but my priorities have changed since then. It'll still be finished in street/track trim, but will probably only see a few drag strip passes just to see what it's capable of.

Sorry, no web site, and yes, probably too much money.

Yes It's very possible with the right tunning. Sreetable (meaning yo ucan drive it on the street) yes it can be verymuch so. Emisisons friendly? Not at all. Illegal...probably after you fail all your smog test. But from my knowledge the guys that have the Classics and dump these motors into them do all kinds of sh*t...you'd be surprised.

Just curious, since you went through all the trouble with the billet crank and all the other weight savers, why didnt you go LS1, I love LT1s, but looking for that kind of HP and weight it just seems easier to do LS1?
