Abs INOP light on....sometimes
Well basically my Abs INOP light on the left side of the gauge cluster is randomly coming on. This morning when I left for work it came on when I started up my car, and it stayed on the whole drive there. Later today when I left work it never came on. My car has been doing this randomly, and even when the light's on it stops just like normal. I'm not too knowledgable when it comes to electrical things...is this just a bad sensor or what?

You need to get it scanned to see which sensor is acting up, Mine was the left front and would come on every once and awhile. I pulled the connector off cleaned the terminals and problem solved. If it is always on you need to replace the sensor which is around $125.

Check all your brake lights. No, i'm not kidding. For some reason, sometimes when a brake light is out the ABS inop light comes on. That was happening to me all the time, until I realized that I had both brake lights that go on the spoiler out. I replaced the bulbs and no more ABS inop light.

Check the group of ground wires located next to the pinkinsh terminal box above the battery on the passengers side fender. I had the same problem and found those ground wires to be loose. Good luck.

I had some really bad clutch chatter for a while, and whenever the chatter got really bad, the abs inop light would come on for the remainder of the trip. So, I guess maybe excessive vibration could cause the condition???

Also, you should all check your grounds in the engine bay. A lot of the stock locations are covered with paint. Sand the paint off and the problem should go away.
You could also check your ABS sensors, they might be loose or going bad.

Specifically check the bulbs in the 3rd brake light. If they are burnt out or removed the ABS inop light will come on. I ran into this issue when I put a 2001 SS spoiler on my Z. The computer couldn't tell that the 3rd brake light was there because the SS one had led's in it. I had to wire regular bulb into the circuit to keep the computer happy.
