Read my post. Myself and others have run them for years without issue.

I know I've asked this before but why isbthe difference between the earlier icm's and the 95-97 icm's aside from the price?

Do you realize we have a spark plug reference chart stickied on the N2O Tech forum:

Go back and read what I posted about the spark gap. Just because a coil is capable of developing a higher voltage doesn't mean it will apply a higher voltage. The voltage builds until it is capable of jumping the plug gap. That is what determines the amount of voltage that builds in the coil. If both a 40,000 volt stock coil (just picking a number as an example) and a 60,000 volt aftermarket coil are used in a system that requires 40,000 volts to jump the gap, they will both produce 40,000 volts. If the system requires 50,000 volts, the stocker can't fire the plug, but the aftermarket coil will, because it can develop more that 40,000 volts.

A plug gapped at 0.040" shouldn't be causing quality wires to arc.

Who calculated your static compression ratio?

The person who built my engine. Idk how he calculates it.he has the build sheet in his office and is closed till monday. 12.4 to. 1 i have not changed my signature yet. I can't even remember specs on anything i know the heads were milled block was decked. I know it will run like crap on anything less than 93 non ethanol super.

Re: ac delco/autolite wires wont work

Found part of the problem. Junk plug wire sleeves. Cheap ones that look like they have aluminum foil on one side.didn't disconnect the battery. Dropped the wire onto starter and burnt a hole through it. Now wire arcs too that foily crap. Replaced it with different wire and cloth one.dielectric grease too all wires and coil plug ins. Car seems too be running great but i will wait till dark too look for any arc

Problem solved. Delco wires couldn't take the heat from the headers. Put the 8.5s on and runs great. Solomon did an excellent job with the base tune can't wait too datalog it and get it fine tuned. Thanks everyone for your input
