Accel 300 Ignition problem?
So I was workin on my car, and I have an accel Ignition set up that has been workin fine for many years. Last night I changed it back to the stock set up for the heck of it (please dont ask why because I do not have an answer =) Today I go back to the accel ignition, hook up the wires... doesnt start.... I think to myself, oh well i probable mixed the connections up, so I try another combination....same thing, no start, so again i try another combination ..nothing.....I say, Oh well Ill just go back to stock for now. Hook it back up NO START So my question is... Did I screw something up by having the connections messed up? I ran fine last night........

Mine quit after 5 years...I hadn't touched anything...one day the car just wouldn't start...I unplugged it and went back to the stock set up..it fired right up...I called LPE and they said that they no longer recommend the 300 because of unexplained failures..I replaced it with an MSD 6A and matching Blaster coil...so far so good.

Oh....I'm assuming you have power..headlights, etc and no starter noise at all...mmmmm all fuses good? what were you working on when you switched back to the stock set up? Its gotta be something silly then...

You blew a fuse, guarenteed. I did the same thing bout 5 times when installin my 300+. If you connected them wrong even once, then the fuse blows, and you wont' be able to start it no matter how you configure it. Open up the fuse box (the under hood one) and check the ignition fuse. I can almost guarentee it'll be popped. I think it's a red one (5 or 10 amp), but I could be wrong...

YUP the ignition fuse was blown, replaced it..... then I pulled the wire on one of the connections that goes into the coil too hard and I broke it, repaired it.........doesnt start....
damn , I thought that fuse was gonna be it.... Would I have blown my coil or opti or is that what the fuse is there for? to protect themselves from idiots like me...

When my Accel went out it took the ignition module. little sensor on the coil bracket, 80$, Advance auto zone. The Accel coil and the Opti. Would crank hard, just would not fire over. 430$ later, fired up just fine!
