Some say the 93's were one of the best running LT1 years because the different syncro in the gearing...Only experience I have is a buddy that had one (when the LT1 was still the car years ago) and the car consistantly didnt perform, Think the best time he ever ran w/ ful bolt ons/gears was a 13.7. Other then that Ive never seen a difference from any other year.

I also have a 1993

From my experience don't get a 1993 z28, if you can find a 1994 1/2 Z28 because you would prefer an OBDII instead of an OBDI. I do have fun with my 93, but now when I look at it I wish I had a 1994 1/2 or newer. If you cannot find one go ahead and buy it, you will still have fun.

I had a 1993 Formula LT1 A4 w/ 105k on it Mods: 1.6RR's, CAI, Catback + Cutout, Fresh tuneUp. I raced a M5 SRT4 from a stop, I got a near perfect launch for the ****ty all seasons I had, I didnt go WOT until about 10mph to avoid burnout since the road was not great. Immediately when I got WOT I pulled a little until the top of first at which I had maby a foot on him given the long front of a firebird. I remand even until bottom of 3rd in which I started to inch my way a little. At which point he shut down. The kid could drive, and chirped 1st and 2nd.

At speeds above 110MPH I think the LT1 will pull away but who races that fast??

An SRT4 M5 w/ a great driver will probably beat a stock Lt1 A4, unless you have some nice tires on that A4 and can launch the **** out of it because there is definitely a torque advantage to the Lt1 in 1st gear which I couldn't take advantage of.

Thats the M6 93's which got the Viper gear ratios, a damn steep 1st gear. The A4's had the same gearing as 93-97.
