Re: afr 220 vs. le3 heads...
Tring to find it for you guys... it was around $6.5K for the setup which is SUPER CHEAP for what it is.
"engine was a 415" SBC using All Pro RR245 23 degree head, makes 871 horsepower normally aspirated, single carb cast intake and the car runs 8.80's at 3000 pounds on 28x10.5 tires. He won the first NMCA race this year in Pro Stock.........
The engine makes peak hp at between 83-8500, and the peak torque is 640 lb/ft at 6500. 3.75 stroke x 4.195 bore. Compression is around 18:1. "

Thats with the BES intake, Jesel Shaft Mounts and the heads complete, that ain't a bad deal at all.

And where is all your work, i've never seen anything but talk from you and its usually just a bunch of crap that doesnt add to a thread. For that matter i've never heard of you, and i dont know anybody that has either. Bret has a whole host of customer cars on here that put down the numbers at the rear wheels, i've not see one from you.
On the afr thing, in the big money circles they're not really anybody's favorite even on out of the box stuff theres just flat out better choices out there. Since you've had so many sets of afr heads through your hot little hands, how'd you like the lips the cnc work left behind. Also i've never seen a bench flow what afr claims, and i'm not the only one, seen a few be close on the intake side only, the exhaust is usually way way off.

I am sure the guy I have working for me KNOWS head porting also, so don't talk out of your ***. People in this industry always try to sling mud on the other guy.
Facts are facts, engines I build with AFR heads never seem to disappoint me or my customers on the engine or chassis dyno. I am sure you can get more out of an AFR casting but then you are talking about paying someone $1000-$1200 just for their labor costs, not including valvetrain

If I wanted to talk out my *** I would just quote you.
I have an engine shop too BFD. I build race engines too BFD.
I know some of the best porters in the country and your shop isn't on the short list.

Either way, they do have some experience with lt1 portwork because my buddies have taken stuff out there for them to do.
