AFR heads on ebay

Re: AFR heads on ebay
I have AFR 190s with the CNC job provided by AFR on my car, when I first bought these they flowed about 3 percent below what AFR advertized, my machinist put a good valvejob on them (with a 30 degree seat), and they gained anywhere from 8 to 16 cfm across the board, making them flow better than what they advertized. The car ran very well with them on a 355 (low 12s @ 115 mph with a CC305), When I built the 383 (10:1 static compression motor) I cleaned up the AFRS (seals, guides, checked valvejob) and then I smoothed out the CNC jobs ridges. The heads work well on the 383 as well.
In 90 plus degree heat I ran 11.5s @ 120 mph in a 3600 pound car. Hot lapping it !!! I have had to tweak and tune it as far as the program (I have tunercat) but I think I have this thing dialed in correctly.
I am also building a new forged bottom shortblock , that will have 11.5:1 compression (static) and I will be using these same heads , but I am adding a 2.055 intake valves (and valvejob).
I can't complain about these heads , I bought them about 8 years ago for 1600 $ and they may not be optimized, but they work for me.
